MEN CAN STOP RAPE/MEN CREATING CHANGE
Friday, March 4, 1 - 5 PM, Pentland Bear Cave (B107/C101) Saturday, March 5, 9 AM - 1 PM, Pentland Bear Cave (B107/C101) The workshops prompt discussion on relationship violence, men's roles in addressing violence against women, the development of a possible Men Creating Change Chapter; and theories, tools and concrete activities for probable trainers and facilitators.
INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY: SCREENING OF AUTUMN GEM
Tuesday, March 8, 3 PM, CHASS INTS 1128 The Department of Womens Studies - in partnership with The Center for Ideas and Society, The Department of Comparative Literature, the Department of Religious Studies, and the Womens Resource Center is screening the film Autumn Gem, the true story of China's first feminist. The screening is free and open to the first 96 who RSVP. A reception follows in CHASS INTS 1113.

Tuesday, March 29, 6 - 7:30 PM, Pentland Bear Cave (B107/C101) In One Girl Gig, the performer takes you through the way internationally renowned Guerrilla Girls came up with some of its many posters, books (The Guerrilla Girls Bedside Companion to the History of Western Art; Bitches, Bimbos and Ballbreakers: The Guerrilla Girls Guide to Female Stereotypes) and actions on discrimination in art, film, politics, etc. Engage to explore issues of women and equity.
THE VAGINA MONOLOGUES: Global Movement to End Violence Against Women and Girls
Sunday, April 3, 1 - 3 PM, HUB 302 Wednesday, April 6, 7 - 9 PM, HUB 302 Tuesday, April 12, 7 - 9 PM, HUB 302 The Vagina Monologues is composed of a varying number of monologues read by a varying number of women. Every monologue relates to the vagina - through sex, love, rape, menstruation, mutilation, birth, etc. A recurring theme throughout the piece is the vagina is a tool of female empowerment and ultimate embodiment of individuality.

WOMEN IN LEADERSHIP SERIES: GIRLDRIVE
Tuesday, April 26, 6 - 7:30 PM, Pentland Bear Cave (B107/C101) What do twenty-something women care about? What are their hopes, worries, and ambitions? Have they heard of feminism, and do they relate to it? These are the questions that two young women sought to answer when they undertook a nationwide roadtrip to discover how their peers view their lives as women. At her workshop, Nona Wills Aronowitzs recalls her journey and its significance to feminism. Aronowitz is a 25-year-old multimedia journalist and cultural critic who works as anassociate producer on Farai Chideyas Pop and Politics series at WNYC and, secondly, talks feminism on Feminist Wednesday with Molly and Brian every week on Chicago Public Radios.

WOMEN IN LEADERSHIP SERIES: WOMEN AS PEACE-BUILDERS
Thursday, May 12, 4 PM, Alumni and Visitors Center The 2011 Forrest S. Mosten Lecturer and Scholar in Residence in Conflict Resolution and Peace Studies Dr. Abigail E. Disney is a filmmaker, philanthropist, and scholar with BA, MA, and PhD degrees from Yale, Stanford, and Columbia Universities. She has produced documentaries on social themes, includign the award-winning Pray the Devil Back to Hell, Family Affair, Playground, and Sun Come Up.

Abigail is now working on the 5-part television series currently in production, Women, War & Peace, co-produced by WNET and Fork Films (Abigail's production company) for broadcast on PBS in 2011. Through unreported and deeply moving stories of women in Bosnia, Columbia, and Afghanistan, the ground-breaking series will focus on women's strategic role in the post-Cold War era, where globalization, arms trafficking and illicit trade have created a new type of war.

Tuesday, May 24, 12 -1 PM, Pentland Fox Hole (F-111/G-101] First come/first served up to 36 UCR students with ID and affiliates of The Leadership Community for Women (a proposed residential theme hall) are invited to dine free with our own Dr. Karen White, Associate of the Chancellor, who will talk about her path to leadership. With a background in physical therapy, human nutrition, and kinesiology, Dr. White has a long-standing interest in people, especially those with disabilities. Find out why she engaged her career and the significance of her choice for women.
